NIET has partnered with the Tennessee Department of Education since 2010 to provide the TAP Teaching Standards as the state teacher evaluation instrument, an online training portal with a data management system, and a network of eight coaches to support the Tennessee Educator Acceleration Model (TEAM).
The results are paying off. Tennessee experienced the largest all-time statewide growth in a testing cycle on the NAEP, +22 scale score points, according to a report by the Tennessee Department of Education.
Relative to other states, this finding demonstrates that since 2011, Tennessee has made nearly 50 percent more growth than any other state when all scores are combined, and 13 percent more growth than any other state since the NAEP was first administered in 2003.
NIET is working with Texas Education Agency (TEA) to support two pilot initiatives. One consists of the implementation of the TAP Teaching Standards across 50 schools, complemented by online support tools and a data management system. In the second project, NIET worked with multiple stakeholder groups to assist in creating the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS). NIET created an online training portal and data management system to the support the effort as well as provided the initial on-site training for the more than 70 participating districts.
NIET has partnered with the Ohio Department of Education to provide an online training platform for the teacher and administrator evaluation process. The online tools include training modules, videos and all supporting documentation.
