The objective of this analysis is to describe what is known about the economic impact of a future improvement in U.S. schools. While ideas of improvement have been discussed for a long period of time, little overall improvement has been seen. The message here is simple: Not improving means dramatically different future economic well-being than could be obtained by having more competitive schools.
