Making Great Teaching the Centerpiece of Schools in Knox County

In 2010, Knox County Schools in Tennessee pursued federal TIF grant funding and partnered with NIET to use the proven TAP System to support student learning in 14 high-need schools. Knox identified and trained teacher leaders to observe, coach and support their peers. These teacher leaders deliver effective professional development leading to student growth, and Knox has seen significant gains in student achievement. This video describes how this approach transformed teaching and learning from the point of view of district educators.
