Holly Boffy is the vice president and district 7 member of the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). She was first elected in 2011 and reelected in 2015. She is also the 2010 Louisiana State Teacher of the Year. Boffy taught middle school for 10 years and is currently the program director of teacher development for the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). Boffy earned National Board Certification in 2006. She earned three degrees from Louisiana State University including a Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, and Education Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction. Her doctorate is in education leadership from Walden University.
