Alan Metcalfe

Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education, Goshen Community Schools, Indiana

Alan Metcalfe has worked in education for 25 years, during which he has served in varying capacities, including elementary teacher, principal, and is currently the assistant superintendent for elementary education for Goshen Community Schools in Indiana. Metcalfe was principal of West Goshen Elementary, a TAP school, before assuming his current role. During this tenure, his school earned the NIET School of Promise award. As principal, he provided input into the development of the administrative evaluation tool and now supervises and evaluates elementary principals. He earned his Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Ball State University, Master of Science in elementary education and supervision from Indiana University South Bend, and Doctor of Philosophy in educational leadership from Purdue University.
