Mindi Woodson is a master teacher at Central Decatur's South Elementary, working specifically with prekindergarten through second-grade students. Central Decatur is a rural district in south central Iowa that has been nationally recognized for its work to increase teacher effectiveness and student learning. She started her career at Central Decatur as a fourth-grade teacher and then a special education teacher for 10 years. She has served as both a mentor and master teacher over the last four years, taking on additional leadership responsibilities. This has allowed her to strengthen her leadership and instructional skills, continuing her professional growth. Woodson is originally from southern Iowa and received her Bachelor of Arts in education from Graceland University and Master of Arts in education administration from William Woods University.
