Gerri M. Maxwell is an associate professor in educational leadership and the department chair of teacher and bilingual education at Texas A&M University – Kingsville (TAMUK). She has garnered some $30 million in grant funding both at the university and public school levels to support initiatives targeting high-need rural schools. Maxwell serves as chair of the diversity committee for the National Rural Education Association and on the editorial board of The Rural Educator. Concurrent to her university work, she provides educational consulting in the areas of grant writing, project management, curriculum and assessment expertise. Maxwell received her Ph.D. in educational administration from Texas A&M College Station.
