As superintendent of Jefferson Parish Public Schools, Dr. Cade Brumley has led an aggressive effort to rapidly improve outcomes for America’s 98th largest school system. With a result-oriented approach, the system is tackling key areas such as educator effectiveness, equity shifts, talent management, leadership development, language acquisition, community engagement and external partnerships. Previously, Brumley served six years as superintendent of schools in DeSoto Parish, which improved its state ranking from 49th to the 9th highest-achieving system in Louisiana under his watch, despite a nearly 40% reduction in revenue. Most recently, Brumley launched "2024: The Future our Kids Deserve," a short-term strategic plan outlining needed reforms to shift the academic trajectory for students through modern facilities, effective teachers, strong leaders, robust instruction, opportunity and partnerships. Brumley holds a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, a Master of Education from Louisiana State University – Shreveport, and a Doctorate in Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
