Why are you passionate about working at NIET?

I work in policy and advocacy to ensure that policies better serve the needs of teachers, so that they can provide an excellent education to every student. NIET shares this goal and I'm proud to work alongside our staff to achieve it. As a former teacher in high-need schools, I understand how challenging and humbling this work can be. I'm constantly impressed by the passion and expertise that our staff has for supporting teachers and students. Learning from their innovative work and using those lessons of practice to inform and shape policymaking is a deeply meaningful and fulfilling professional opportunity for me.

What do you do in your free time?

I’m a regular reader, runner, record collector and increasingly ambitious cook. I try to keep a habit of traveling to new corners of the USA and exploring the backcountry of our national parks. When the game's on, you can find me rooting for the Razorbacks, Thunder and Chiefs.
