Dr. Nathan Morris has been superintendent of the Cross County School District since 2017. Under his leadership, Cross County High School achieved a #3 state ranking in the Office of Education Policy Beating the Odds Awards for Overall Growth among high-poverty schools in Arkansas. In the same year, Cross County Elementary Technology Academy earned its first "A" rating by the Arkansas Department of Education after achieving top 5% student growth and top 10% student achievement in the state.
Nathan maintained this success, leading to a second consecutive "A" rating for the elementary school in the 2018-2019 school year. Cross County Elementary Technology Academy is a two-time NIET Founder's Award Finalist, reflecting Nathan's commitment to full implementation of the TAP System. Both Cross County High School and Cross County Elementary School earned value-added growth scores of 5 for the most recent school year.
Nathan is a member of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators, ASCD, and the American Association of School Administrators. He currently serves on the Professional Licensure Standards Board for the State of Arkansas and is a board member of the Arkansas Rural Education Association.
Nathan holds bachelor's and master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas and earned his doctorate in educational leadership at Arkansas Tech University. Prior to working at Cross County, Nathan was superintendent at the Two Rivers School District and is in his eighth year in administration and 21st year in education. He is a proud Arkansan, husband, and father to one-year-old twins.
