Dr. Stanley Law is a dedicated educator and transformational school leader, nearing 30 years of experience serving students in the roles of teacher, assistant principal, and principal across the elementary, middle, and high school levels. A product of Gary, Indiana, his lived experiences gave rise to his purpose and passion for advancing educational excellence for all students. He currently serves as principal of George Washington High School in Indianapolis Public Schools.

Dr. Law began his career as a middle school science and biology teacher before advancing into administrative leadership. He leads his staff with a servant’s heart while maintaining high expectations for teaching, learning, and student outcomes. His leadership is grounded in collaboration, meaningful relationships, inclusion, instructional excellence, and the belief that educators must “do whatever it takes to educate” so every student graduates prepared to pursue a desired postsecondary pathway.

Across three innovative high schools, Dr. Law’s leadership has contributed to significant improvements in graduation rates, freshman success, instructional coherence, and college and career readiness. In his current role at George Washington High School, the school’s graduation rate increased from 62% in 2019 to 92% in 2025. Notably, George Washington has also earned recognition as a NIET School of Promise and a National Freshman On-Track Demonstration School with the Center for High School Success.

Having served 22 years of service in the United States, he considers his Navy experience integral to his career in education, as it cultivated the discipline, resilience, adaptability, and “can-do” spirit that define him as an educator and leader.

Dr. Law earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Butler University, and a Doctor of Education in Superintendency from Oakland City University. He is the proud father of two amazing sons and the grandfather of three grandchildren. In his leisure time, he enjoys running.
