Dr. Matt McClure

Dr. Matt McClure is a nationally recognized education leader and former Arkansas Superintendent of the Year with more than 25 years of experience in public education, legislative advocacy, and organizational leadership. He previously served as Superintendent of the Cross County School District, where he led a successful fiscal turnaround, improved student outcomes, and implemented innovative instructional practices that positioned the district as a statewide leader.
Dr. McClure has extensive experience working with state and national policymakers, having testified before the Arkansas House and Senate Education Committees and contributed to legislation advancing digital learning and school improvement. He has been actively involved in education policy at both the state and federal levels, collaborating with leaders across the political spectrum to advocate for strong public schools.
He served as President of ASCD, where he led the largest professional education organization in the world, representing more than 175,000 educators globally. In this role, he worked to advance instructional leadership, whole child education, and educator development nationwide.
In addition to his work in public education, Dr. McClure is an entrepreneur who has built and scaled multi-site organizations, bringing expertise in strategic planning, governance, and organizational growth. He currently serves on multiple boards and remains deeply committed to improving outcomes for students and educators, particularly in rural communities.
