NIET Builds the Expertise of Teacher Leaders at Louisiana Summit

The power of teacher leadership was front and center as thousands of educators and administrators gathered at the Louisiana Teacher Leader Summit. NIET led seven high-impact sessions over the three-day conference on May 26-28, training thousands of educators from across the state to strengthen their ability to lead, coach, support, and monitor teaching and learning in their districts and schools.

From applying the Louisiana Educator Rubric in CTE classrooms to embracing the coaching role of instructional leaders, NIET experts provided high-quality learning for educators and leaders at the classroom, school, and district level at the Teacher Leader Summit. This work builds on years of partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education and NIET’s role in helping implement Instructional Leadership Teams and create the Louisiana Leader, Teacher, and Aspiring Teacher Rubrics to strengthen instructional support and provide all students with the opportunity to succeed.

“We are so grateful for the partnerships and long-standing relationships we have established through our mission of building educator excellence with educators across Louisiana,” said NIET South-Central Regional Director Theresa Hamilton. “This conference is always a great opportunity to share big ideas with leaders about coaching practices by going first to build collective leader capacity.”
