Dr. Lori Line

Midwest Regional Director

Lori Line has been an educator for over 30 years. For the first 18 years of her career, Lori was an elementary teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. When Goshen Community Schools implemented the TAP system in 2011, Lori became a Master Teacher at West Goshen Elementary School. During her time as Master Teacher, West Goshen Elementary School was named the School of Promise from NIET in 2012. In 2013, Lori transitioned to a TAP State Regional Coordinator at the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (C.E.L.L.) at the University of Indianapolis through a federal TIF grant. When the TIF grant was ending, Lori went back to West Goshen Elementary School to serve as principal. During all four years serving as principal, West Goshen was awarded an “A” rating from the state of Indiana. It was while Lori was at West Goshen that our school was nominated in 2017 and then awarded in 2018 the TAP Founder’s Award. In 2019, Lori was named an assistant superintendent for Goshen Community Schools overseeing professional development and human resources for the corporation. In 2023, Goshen Community Schools was awarded the NIET District Award for Excellence for Educator Effectiveness.

Lori Line has served on the NIET Education Advisory Board, NIET Steering Committee, and was named an NIET Teach Factor Fellow.

Lori has earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education from Ball State University. Lori's administrative licensure was obtained through Indiana Wesleyan University, and she earned a Ph.D. in Education Administration through Indiana State University.

Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

Ms. Hardebeck was my high school speech teacher. She pushed me out of my comfort zone to present on a range of topics that I had to research. She is the one who encouraged me to pursue an education degree and become a teacher. She has continued to be a mentor and friend to me even after all these years.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy boating with my family and watching the beautiful Indiana sunsets with my husband. I enjoy traveling, cooking, and reading. I also love spending time with my goldendoodle, Mazie.

Why are you passionate about working at NIET?

When I see teachers’ excitement in being lifelong learners through high quality professional development, it drives my passion. Then, seeing that excitement transfer into the instruction in the classroom with students gives me great joy. That is when true student achievement comes alive.
