Teacher and Leader Development
By restructuring the typical career and advancement pathways, we create opportunities for educators to advance while having a direct impact on the classroom. NIET provides on-site and online coaching and support to help identify and develop instructional coaches, principals, district administrators and teacher leaders. The ultimate goal is to build their capacity so they can lead their own success.
The TAP System for Teacher and Student Advancement
TAP is an educator-led, comprehensive school reform solution focused on attracting, developing, motivating and retaining high-quality educators. Introduced 20 years ago, we have seen the TAP System lead to dramatically improved outcomes for students and change the trajectory of entire schools.
Rubric and Observation Systems
NIET's research-based rubric, currently used by eight states, clearly defines effective teaching practices that correlate with student achievement. We also assist partners in creating their own rubrics and offer in-person services across multiple aspects of educator effectiveness. These include teacher leadership, professional development, and educator observation and feedback.
Principal and District Support
Our Principal Rubric and Leadership Series empower principals to advance instructional excellence and equity. Superintendents and district leaders can work alongside NIET to receive coaching and consulting that will help them to advance their schools to the next level.
Educator Preparation Partnerships
NIET partners with over 75 educator preparation programs to strengthen their connections with school districts, better prepare and support new teachers, and increase the placement of well-trained, highly effective new teachers in schools across the country.
Accelerating Character Education Development (ACED)
High-quality character education takes a broad approach that changes school culture, where adults serve as role models and students become a key part of supporting their peers. NIET helps school and district leaders weave character development into a school's fabric to give all students the opportunity for success in school and life.
