Britney Allen, a Louisiana senior specialist, has served in a leadership role for the past 12 years of her 19 year career. She has held several roles in various districts of teacher, instructional coach, master teacher, administrator, and most recently Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

Britney’s passion from the very beginning has been putting the needs of students first. This has been at the forefront of her career. NIET has taught her how to do this in all the roles she has held. She wouldn’t be where she is today without the knowledge and support she has received from the NIET team and colleagues.

Why are you passionate about working at NIET? What accomplishment are you most proud of through your work at NIET?

I am most passionate about working with NIET to effectively implement all of NIET’s best practices to ultimately build educator effectiveness to impact student achievement. I am most proud of winning the TAP Founder’s Award in 2017 with the G.W. Carver Primary team from Gonzales, LA. At the time, I was a TAP Master Teacher who worked with K-5th grade ELA and Social Studies teachers to close the reading gap of students. By the end of the year, the team increased the amount of students reading on grade level.

What do you do in your free time?

My favorite thing to do in my spare time is to spend time with my husband and 2 children. I love to watch my kids play their travel sports (baseball, softball, and volleyball). Reading books of all genres is also a hobby, as well as shopping.
