Chrissy enjoys the day-to-day aspects of working in human resources, from helping staff members with payroll, preparing for retirement, and understanding their benefits, to writing policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. She prides herself on keeping up with any changes in legislature that can have an effect on employees.

Chrissy found her passion for human resources fifteen years ago in the private sector. After some gained experience, she transitioned to the public sector for over five years. In that time, she was able to earn multiple certifications through the state of Tennessee for Human Resources.

Who is your favorite teacher?

Mrs. Horner from sixth grade is my favorite teacher. She helped me to see potential in myself and how knowledge really is power. That year I became a spelling bee champion and discovered my love for reading. To this day I read one to two books a week.

Why are you passionate about working at NIET?

I really am in awe of what NIET stands for. Our mission and values are not just an empty statement; it's something that is strived for every day. It's very rewarding to be a part of this organization and contribute by providing a resource for employees and empower them so they can remain focused on their duties for education with teachers and students.

What do you do in your free time?

I am a family-centered person, so I really love connecting with my two children and learning what new things are happening in their lives. I also enjoy photography, playing board games or cards, traveling (especially to the beach), spending time with friends and family, or catching a Nashville Predators game.
