Dr. Handrea Logis

Dr. Handrea Logis supports all aspects of NIET's research activities, such as monitoring data collection efforts for the SEED grants, performing quantitative analysis to evaluate the impact of NIET's initiatives, as well as providing data and research support for various projects.

Prior to joining NIET, Handrea worked as a graduate research assistant at the University of Illinois as part of the Classroom Peer Ecologies Project, funded by the Institute of Education Sciences. Her research focused on children's friendship selection, peer pressure, bullying and the teacher's role in children's peer relations.

Handrea received a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Ph.D. in educational psychology with a concentration in child development and quantitative methods from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Why are you passionate about working at NIET?

I am passionate about working at NIET because everyone is committed to the teaching profession. I also feel that people care about each other and work together as a team.

What was your favorite subject in school and why?

My favorite subject in school was math, mostly due to the amazing math teachers I was fortunate to have throughout my junior and high school years.
