She worked closely with district and school leaders as well as policymakers to ensure the success of the grant initiative. Why are you passionate about working at NIET?

I am passionate about working at NIET when I am able to visit classrooms and see the impact of our support efforts. Seeing teachers improving and thriving in their roles and the impact that has on student growth and achievement is simply breathtaking!

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends and taking long walks with my Goldendoodle. I also enjoy cooking, reading, watching sports and listening to live music.

Who is your favorite teacher?

My favorite teacher is my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ellsworth. She taught me how to read and to love to read. For years I was convinced I was her favorite student, although now I realize she made every student feel that way. Mrs. Ellsworth had a lasting impact on my life and is someone I will never forget.
