Why are you passionate about working at NIET?

I believe in the mission of NIET – every student deserves an excellent teacher and every teacher deserves to be supported by great leaders. I am proud to be working at NIET because I have firsthand experience of how transformational the process can be. I have seen leaders grow in skill and self-assurance as they build the capacity and confidence of teachers who engage and spark student learning. The outcome is academic success, teacher retention, and pride for all district stakeholders.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I like to do Pilates and yoga. Working out helps me to get out of my own head and focus on being in the present moment while doing something beneficial for my health. I also enjoy reading, doing puzzles, and cooking.

What was your favorite subject in school and why?

My favorite subjects in school are literature and history. I think both subjects offer us an opportunity to study the human condition. From this we can learn about how we are all connected as well as appreciate the uniqueness everyone brings.
