NIET National Award of Excellence for Educator Effectiveness: Perry Township Schools, Indiana

Perry Township Schools, Indiana, is the first recipient of NIET's National Award of Excellence for Educator Effectiveness.

Perry Township has partnered with NIET since 2010 to place teacher leaders at the forefront of school improvement, achieving significant gains in student learning.

"Our partnership with NIET makes us a leader in educator effectiveness, not just in Marion County, but the state of Indiana," says Perry Township Schools Superintendent Pat Mapes.

Adds Assistant Superintendent for Career Preparation Bob Bohannon, "I have been a school administrator for 30-plus years. Our instruction now is the best in my career. The true beneficiaries of what we see in our classrooms is success of kids."
